Register by 10 am ET in order to attend the webinar and learn how to decipher the valuable content found within your analytics package. Don't forget about these statistics in analytics Browser Capabilities: After checking the numbers surrounding your bounce rate, determine your bounce rate by browser. If your site has a higher bounce rate in say Firefox than it does in Internet Explorer, there may be issues with the way your website renders in that specific browser. When it comes to your browser, pay close attention to the screen settings the majority of your audience is using. Do you have more page landscape than you're currently using on the most popular browsers? If so, you have an opportunity for more content visibility. Finally, is your website optimized for mobile users? The numbers of mobile users are consistently increasing. If the percent of mobile users entering your website is going up, you should consider optimizing your site for mobile if you haven't already done so. Top Exit Pages: Take a close look at the top exit pages of your website. These pages are where people are leaving your website. Determine what type of page it is. If the page is a step two of a three-part process, use funnel analysis and landing page optimization to increase conversions. If this process involves monetary exchange, which could possibly by a reason the site abandonments take place. Regardless, it's worth looking into. Is the page an entrance page? For most online publishers, every page of their website is an entrance point. High abandonment rates on these pages could mean poorly qualified traffic. Take a look at the contents of these top exit pages and determine if it could be attracting the wrong type of visitors. Does the exit page have a clear next step? If it doesn't, you likely have the reason people are leaving. Capturing visitors through a sign-up or sales page should be possible on all pages of your website. At the very least, include links to other articles of yours to entice visitors to read more of your content. Finally, take a look at your 404 Error page template. If a user comes across your 404 Page, what are they persuaded to do next? For successful 404 pages, include additional links to free downloadable products, articles or your home page so that visitors that experience a 404 don't leave your site and never return.
